Job Description
The Data Entry Assistant will support the transfer of electronic files from an existing Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) to a new on-premises application.
The role requires careful handling of documents, accurate file organization, basic verification of migrated data, and prompt reporting of any issues encountered during the migration process.
Key Responsibilities
1. Download electronic files and organize them according to the relevant departments.
2. Upload documents and data into the new EDMS application.
3. Ensure files are placed in the correct departments, folders and designated locations.
4. Perform basic checks to confirm files have been transferred correctly and remain accessible.
5. Identify and report missing, damaged, duplicated or inaccessible files.
6. Keep accurate records of migration activities and provide progress updates.
7. Follow approved data migration and document-handling procedures.
8. Maintain confidentiality when handling electronic documents.
9. Work with relevant teams to resolve migration-related issues.
Requirements / Qualifications
1. Minimum of OND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field.
2. Good knowledge of computer systems and basic office applications.
3. Ability to manage large volumes of electronic files and folders.
4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
6. Good organizational, communication and teamwork skills.
7. Ability to work within deadlines.
8. Previous experience in data entry, document management or IT support is an advantage.
