Programme Description
ATPP provides professional education training for eligible non-professional teachers, instructors, and educators currently working in different education settings across Nigeria.
The six-month programme consists of approximately four months of hybrid academic study, followed by two months of supervised teaching practice. Learning is delivered through contact sessions at study centres and the ATPP learning management system.
Successful participants who satisfy the programme and examination requirements can become eligible for TRCN registration in the appropriate category.
Qualification Pathways
Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
The 40-unit PGDE pathway is intended for candidates who:
1. Hold a bachelor’s degree in a non-education discipline or an HND.
2. Have at least 24 months of classroom teaching experience.
3. Professional Diploma in Education (PDE)
4. The 37-unit PDE pathway is designed for candidates who:
5. Hold an OND or ND.
6. Have at least 24 months of classroom teaching experience.
Both pathways lead to the relevant qualification from an accredited ATPP institution.

The programme is open to serving non-professional teachers, instructors, and educators who meet the academic and teaching-experience requirements for their chosen pathway.
